Melhuish, Ph.D.&nbsp;; Sheena Reilly, Ph.D.&nbsp;; Tess Gregory, Ph.D. JAMA Pediatr, 4 mars 2024)<sup data-fn=\"1f61845e-c70c-4f73-95ab-80aab1469b9a\" class=\"fn\"><a href=\"#1f61845e-c70c-4f73-95ab-80aab1469b9a\" id=\"1f61845e-c70c-4f73-95ab-80aab1469b9a-link\">1<\/a><\/sup> mesure les effets de l&rsquo;exposition aux \u00e9crans sur le d\u00e9veloppement du langage. S&rsquo;il est \u00e9vident que le temps pass\u00e9 devant un \u00e9cran s&rsquo;exerce au d\u00e9triment des \u00e9changes entre parents et enfants, les r\u00e9sultats de cette \u00e9tude australienne en mesurent pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment les effets. Les chercheurs d\u00e9montrent en effet qu&rsquo;un temps d&rsquo;exposition d&rsquo;<strong>une heure<\/strong> <strong>chaque jour <\/strong>prive les <strong>enfants \u00e2g\u00e9s de 36 mois<\/strong> de 397 mots d&rsquo;adultes, 294 vocalisations et 68 conversations.<br><br>Il s&rsquo;agit l\u00e0 d&rsquo;enfants observ\u00e9s dans des familles respectant les recommandations de l&rsquo;OMS en mati\u00e8re d&rsquo;exposition aux \u00e9crans. Or, il est bien connu que la plupart des familles d\u00e9passent les seuils pr\u00e9conis\u00e9s : les enfants de cette tranche d&rsquo;\u00e2ge sont plut\u00f4t expos\u00e9s 3 heures par jour aux \u00e9crans. <strong>De ce fait, ils seraient priv\u00e9s de pr\u00e8s de 1140 mots et de 194 conversations chaque jour.<\/strong> <br><strong>On peut imaginer le d\u00e9ficit \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle d&rsquo;une ann\u00e9e.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Il faut de plus noter que l&rsquo;\u00e9tude n&rsquo;a pas pris en compte l&rsquo;utilisation parentale des t\u00e9l\u00e9phones portables en pr\u00e9sence de leurs enfants. Les adultes peuvent en faire une utilisation silencieuses qui n&rsquo;a pu \u00eatre enregistr\u00e9e (lecture d&rsquo;e-mails, envoi de SMS, consultation de sites internet ou de r\u00e9seaux sociaux). <br>Le fait que les parents puissent \u00eatre distraits par leur smartphone et autres \u00e9crans n&rsquo;est plus \u00e0 d\u00e9montrer, il s&rsquo;agit l\u00e0 d&rsquo;un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne courant qui s&rsquo;exerce au d\u00e9triment des enfants.
